Funk At Your Fingertips

MT-III is a touch-sensitive envelope filter that listens to your hands. Pick lightly and it purrs, dig in and it barks — the funk, the twang and the wah-like sweeps of the 70s, tracking every note you play.

What's Inside

Play It Soft. Play It Hard.
The Filter Follows.

01

Envelope Follower

The filter listens to your hands. Every attack drives the sweep, so your dynamics become the effect. No pedal, no LFO. Just touch.

02

Three Filter Modes

Low-pass for fat, vocal wah. Band-pass for the classic nasal quack. High-pass for thin, spitting funk. One knob, three personalities.

03

Peak Control

Dial the resonance from a gentle breath to a screaming, ringing peak. This is where the quack gets its edge.

04

Gain Sensitivity

Sets how hard the envelope reacts to your playing. Keep it low for subtle movement, crank it for a full-throttle sweep on every pluck.

05

Range & Drive

Low or High range sets where the sweep lives. Drive flips its direction: Up opens the filter as you dig in, Down closes it for that reverse-wah suck.

06

Mix & Stereo I/O

Blend the filtered signal with your dry tone and run mono or full stereo. Studio flexibility the original stomp box never dreamed of.

Overview

In 1972, a small New Jersey workshop built the world's first envelope-controlled filter. No pedal, no LFO: the sweep followed how hard you played, through a state-variable core with low-pass, band-pass and high-pass, sweeping up or down.

Within a year it was on the funkiest Clavinet riff of 1973, the P-Funk space bass and jam-band tones still chased today. Production ended by 1980, and the originals became some of the most collectible stomp boxes ever made.

MT-III brings that circuit into your DAW, captured in detail, plus mix, stereo I/O and presets the original never had.

Flip the Sweep

Three rockers do most of the talking. Range picks the register: Low stays throaty and bass-friendly, High goes bright and vocal. Drive sets the direction: Up opens the filter as you dig in for the classic quack, Down closes it on every attack for a squelchy reverse sweep.

Add Peak for bite and Gain for how hard the envelope listens, and you go from polite auto-wah to synth-like throb without touching a pedal.

Stock Tuning. Or Yours.

Out of the box, MT-III is tuned like the legend: the envelope timing and sweep shape that made it sing on guitar, bass and Clavinet.

Open Settings to re-tune the circuit. Envelope sets Attack, Release and how long the filter remembers your last hit. Sweep shapes the ride: Bloom, Shift in semitones, Width and a touch of Ripple. Snappier for slap bass, wider for pads, or something the original never could.
